Shakin’ Stevens wasn’t an overnight success
It wasn’t going to be easy for the Welshman
Michal Barrette was born 4th March 1948 in Ely in Wales.
One of 13 children his parents May and Jack knew their boy would
go along away.

He started out on the music scene in 1968/69 with his band The Sunsets. Their first album was recorded
In 12 hours. It was produced by Dave Edmonds and it was called "A Legend".
Their first single was called I sprit of Woodstock /b side was called down on the Farm.
Their next album was called I’M O DJ; they only recorded 6 albums.
Their second single was called "Honey Don’t"

The Sunsets recorded some great songs and had many hits thought-out Europe.
Jungle Rock, Tear It Up, Tiger, Sexy Ways, Girl in Red, All by Myself and Rock Billy Rock.
