Shakin’ Stevens and The Sunsets for many years travelled up and down the country Performing
In School and Colleges, and travelling throughout Europe in their van.
Their final album was recorded in a studio on the out skirts of Amsterdam in 1976 called come on Memphis
Shakin’ Stevens and Sunsets were the support act for The Rolling Stones.
In late 1977 Shakin’ Sevens and the Sunsets went their separate ways.
Shaky went into the studio and recorded The Track Years out of which came 3 singles called
Never, Justine and Somebody Touched Me whish became a hit in Australia all produced by Mike Hurts.
Shaky also recorded got a Lotta LivIn’To Do Rebound and Hound Dog.
In 1977 Shaky was offered the role to play Elvis in the west end musical ELVIS, produced by Jack Good.
Shaky was to play the King for next 3 years paying tribute in his own unique way.
Out of the musical came the album Elvis.
Shaky was to go on to do 2 TV shows ‘LETS ROCK and OH BOY Both produced by Jack Good.
They both a huge susses and Shaky went on to do bigger things Shaky.
3 tracks Summer Time Blues Honey Don’t and Something else twenty flights Rock all recorded for the Oh Boy album.
In 1978 Shakin’ Stevens release on track record his first solo album called Shakin’ Stevens Play Loud. #34 also that year,
Shaky signed a contract with worldwide Epic Records.
His first 3 singles were called Treat Her Right’ Spooky’ and Endless Sleep but didn’t chart.
2 more singles were released called Hay Mae and Shooting Gallery but didn’t make an impact on the UK Charts.
In 1980 Shakin’ Stevens hit the big time with his first hit Hot Dog#24 featuring Albert Lee taken from the album Take One#62
Touring for the next few months, Shaky had a busy schedule doing concerts and interviews.
Marie Marie opened the door for Shaky into Europe and reached no.19# in the UK charts.
This Ole’ House was first recorded in 1954 by Rosemary Clooney
Shaky first heard the song round at a mate’s house one Christmas.

Then in 1981 Shakin’ Stevens smashed into the UK charts with his version of This Ole’ House,
His first international hit which went straight to no.1 #for Shaky.
While Shaky was in Madrid working he heard the news great Brittan had a new number 1
This Ole House had got to number #1 Shaky was over the moon.
This Ole House was taken from his smash hit album This Ole House.
This Ole House was also taken from the’ Album Get Shaken.
1981 was to Carrie on like it started with touring and releasing You Drive Me Crazy and reaching the number #2 spot.
It was decided Shakys next single would be Green Door when Shaky was told about this he was having a cup of tea
but instead of drinking the tea it went all over the table for laughing, that Green Door was to be Shaky next single within weeks Green Door became a huge hit for Shaky.
1981 Shakin’ Stevens spent 40 weeks in the UK charts.
Green Door it was to be worldwide smash reaching number #1
In the Fifties Frankie Vaughan also a Welshmen had a smash hit with
Green Door, it was to be Shaky s second number 1# it was taken from
The number 1# album SHAKY it stayed in the charts for 28 weeks.
In Japan Shaky also had number 1# album called You Drive Me Crazy?
Noted for his black hair, blue greys eyes, denims a pink jacket and white shoes.
Shakin’ Stevens could do no wrong he would send fans wild.
Fans would do anything just to get closer to their idol it been known for fans to pay thousands of thousands of pounds.
1982 and OH JULIE written by Shaky got him his third international l number #1 and
Within weeks it was picked up by American pop star Barry Manillow.
OH JULIE was taken the album Give Me Your Heart Tonight #3which sold 300,000 copies in its first week of release. Shakin ’Stevens next stop Chile he could not go any where for being mobbed by million of screaming fans3 more single came off the album. Shirley, #6 Give Me Your Heart Tonight, #10 and I’ll Be Satisfied#10In Germany that year they also release an album called Here Comes Shaky#1
Shakin’ Stevens was to record his first traditional Christmas single Blue Christmas

October/November 1982 Shaky Started a British tour during his British tour.
He recorded 3 ‘live’ tracks called Josephine written by Shaky ‘Lawdy Miss Clawdy and Que Sera Sera originally sung by Doris Day. They featured on a double A side single called Blue Christmas. #2

Between 1980 and 1984 Shakin’ Stevens sold in access of 8 million singles worldwide.
In 1985 Shakin’ Stevens Appeared on Her Royal Majesty’s singing his new single Lipstick Powder and Paint. #11 To finish 85 Shakin’ Stevens
set off on U.K. tour after a huge sell out tour he released
a second Christmas single was to be written for Shaky called Merry Christmas Everyone.
The single was to be released at the end of 1984 but because of Band Aid Do they know its Christmas
Merry Christmas Everyone got put back a year. But Merry Christmas everyone was released in December
1985 the video filmed in Lapland to give Shakin’ Stevens his first Christmas number # 1.
1986 is just around the corner and Shakin’ Stevens goes back into the studio and comes up with new songs
and his new single taken from the album.
Lipstick Powder and Paint #37 came unique sound of country called Turning Away it reached #15
CBS released in 1986 a Canadian album called A Rockin Good Way.1986 was to be a busy year for Shaky.
His next single to be released was a slow moving Ballard called
Because I Love You Shaky was to set off on another UK tour.
At the end of 1986 Merry Christmas Everyone was re-release with a different sleeve and got to number 58 in the UK charts.
Shakin’ Stevens heard about a girl who was involved in a hit and run accident near her home in Glasgow called Connie Taylor.
Shaky Visited Connie as she recovered from her injuries it was to be very moving for Shaky. Connie was to remain hospital for a while.
Shaky sent her many gifts while in hospital including a cassette tape with Shaky on it.
As Connie slowly recovered, one of the first words she said was “Lipstick’ within weeks Connie is a loud to go home now out of hospital.
Shaky time off from a busy UK tour he got on a plane and flow into Glasgow to make a surprising visit. The next time Connie was to see Shaky
would be when he knocks on her front door and to her surprise Shaky was standing there on her door step.
Connie could not believe it and Shaky was to spend the whole day with her looking at photos and going for walks. This moving story was made into documentary for BBC Television as was shown in late 1987 Connie was invited by Shaky to meet back
stage before the show.
Shaky was to dedicate by singing his new single to her Because I Love You, because I Love you was taken from the album Let’s Boogie.

it got to number #12 for Shaky in the UK charts shortly followed by Come See About Me a 60s classic first recorded by The Supremes The song was to take Shaky to number #24 in the UK charts. Shakin’ Stevens next single was to be his 25th consecutive hit single called What Do You Want To Make Those At Me For first recorded in the 60s by Emma and the check mates Shaky like and with that he rerecorded it taking him to number #5 in the UK charts the video was filmed in Trafalgar square with special guest Vic reeves.
Christmas is over Shaky next single was first recorded in 1973 then again in 1983 its called Feel The Need In Me for the next few Shaky was touring once more throughout Europe it was to be busy time for Shakin’ Stevens it was to get back into the studio new material and a new album for the newt few months it took time but eventually came Shakys

Shaky also performed on a programme called Hearts Of Gold singing True Love wile singing his new single Shaky was suspires by Carrie walking on to give him an ward. True Love became his third Christmas hit single reaching 23 in the UK charts.
Now at the end of a decade Shakin’ Stevens starts off 1989 with Jezebel his new single with a new version which is different to the one that’s on album A whole Lotta Shaky first recorded by Marty Wild in the 50s Jezebel was not a massive hit for Shaky only reaching number 58 in the UK charts. UK tour ends a decade with Shakin’ Stevens had made music history by releasing his 30th single called Love Attack reaching #28 throughout eighties Shakin’ Stevens had 30th consecutive hit singles Shakin’ Stevens has had more hits singles then any other artist of a decade his singles and albums have sold millions worldwide.

Shakin’ Stevens looks forward to the nineties and what a way to start then with his new Single I Might 1990 was to be very hectic for Shaky with the announce of a UK tour at the end of the year Shaky had no time to waist he did many TV appearances and more touring in different parts of world Shaky next single was called Yes I Do which he performed at the Royal variety performance a long with one of the song he used to do with the sunsets called Tear It Up and it was back into the studio to record a new album a few months later came Shakin’ Stevens There Are Two Kinds Of Music

My Cutie Cutie only reached 75 in the UK charts but the one good thing about the song it had a great video. With Christmas just a round the corner what better way to end 1990 with a Christmas song called The Best Christmas Of Them All Shaky did many interviews and performers running up to Christmas and Christmas top of the pop Shaky wears a nice red suit Shaky also recorded a live video fantastic.
Another year gone and 1991 was to see the end of a great partnership between Shaky and his manager after 13 years went their separate ways Shaky carried on working with that his record label Epic approached Shaky and asked him whether he would consider doing a Christmas album Shaky thought about it and he agreed. They both sat around the piano started to come up with Christmas songs when it was blazing hot sun outside Shaky co-wrote some of the songs with his son Jason Shaky wanted to make unique rock’n’roll Christmas album we came up with It’s Gonna Be Lonely Christmas, Sure Won’t Seem Like Christmas and I’ll Be Home This Christmas Merry Christmas Everyone is one of the best Shaky albums ever, it did chart but not well first time around.
1992 saw the last year of Epic records so in March and April Shaky went on the road to U.K. Tour called The Epic Tour what an excellent way to say goodbye to Epic after another great tour Shaky goes back into the studio to record a new single called Radio Shaky got together with drummer Roger Taylor from the rock group QUEEN and Peter-Van-Hook the tape went off to Roger he heard and he loved it also Shakin ’Stevens had shorten his name to Shaky. Radio is a great track but only reached 37 in the UK charts. Radio feathers on the Limited Edition Double Album Gatefold LP called The Epic Years at the end of 1992 Shaky stopped recording to out his personal things and to see what he sold what and where all over the world even thaw Shaky had stopped recording.
He carried on touring between 1993l94/and 95.Shaky went back into the studio in 1994 to record a new album called Shakin’ Stevens The singles Collection which contains 25 Shaky was to especial collection of his favourite tracks to thank you for all the support doing festivals and the album include his new single I Can Help.
His albums would make great impacted on the charts over the world now heading towards the end of another decade papers were being contacted in their thousands phones were jammed asking Have
you seen this man Shaky, he was flattered with all the message and support he had received the end of the decade, 99 Shaky goes on another UK tour with special guest the sister of legend 50s rock’ n ’roll star Jerry Lee Louis was Linda Gaile Louis she plays a mean piano and Shaky goes out with a bang by holding an open air concert on new year eve in his home town in Cardiff in front of 100.000 people. The Millennium nearly open us Shaky looks forward to another part of tremendous and exciting career by moving forward on his next stage.
Early spring had arrived and Shaky was of on another UK tour Shaky was Rockin Sold out venue where ever he went the tour was a huge susses and in 2003 Shaky was asked to perform in Vienna Austria to celebrate their 20th anniversary he sang the classics and new song too and Shaky sang I CAN HELP with special guests Billy Swan.
Then in 2004 SONY released a CD/DVD in Denmark called Shakin’ Stevens COLLECTABLE and went straight to number 1 it went double platinum within days Shaky spent the next few weeks doing TV interviews to promote his new album.
2005 Shaky feet were Rockin with the release of his new album Called Shakin’ Stevens THE COLLECTION a CD/DVD 25 of his classic hits it went double platinum in just under a week and got to 4 in the UK charts. While having huge success with The Collection, Sony re release the 1991 album Merry Christmas Everyone digital master CD which reached number 9 on the download chart and again 22 in 2007.
Shaky was ask if he would to be apart of a show for ITV1 called HIT ME BABY ONE MORE TIME Shaky agreed Shaky was among many artist to take part in the show .Shaky was to sing his number 1 Classic This Ole’ House plus a new song first recorded by American pop star PINK called TROUBLE the TV viewer and studio audience loved Shaky it was like Shaky had never been away Shaky mania was back it was like the eighties all over again. Shaky was back and the day after winning Hit Me Baby One More Time Shaky was back in the studio recording the winning Song TROUBLE as a double A side single with his number 1 classic This
Ole House. Trouble became a hit for Shaky reaching number 20 in the UK charts and TV appearances followed Shakin ’Stevens made his 64 appearance on Top Of The Pops singing Trouble in 2005 with a release on DVD called Shakin’ Stevens THE DVD COLLECTION the DVD
fetches 27 re master and 3 Christmas songs plus 2 live performance of Marie, Marie, and Trouble with photo gallery and of course an interview with the man himself Shakin’ Stevens Shaky ends 2005 with a huge successful UK Tour.
2006 and goes back into the recording studio to record new materiel for a new album this was to be his first studio album in 12 years the new album was NOW LISTEN it was worth the wait everyone was wanting to know what Shaky s new album was like Shaky s next single was to be Now Listen the title track of the album. The single was to be release in 2006 the date for its release was changed
many times yet to be announced the album has a style of rock and
country blues the album stands out on it’s own What can I say
about Now Listen out standing if your an old or new shaky fan You will love it the album contains 3 legendry songs I Got My Mind Set On You Baby It’s You and I Hear You Knocking and now the release of Now Listen in Denmark reaching number 8 in album charts shaky starts to do more concerts in the UK and Poland with 2006 been and gone.
Shaky goes in 2007 With a very busy calendar head still promoting his new album Shaky goes once more goes abroad to do TV and radio in Denmark for next 4 months it’s go for Shaky with no time sit down Shaky is off to another country to more TV interviews now with the release of Now Listen in the UK Shaky goes abroad to do concerts to packed out crowds with 2007 coming to a close Shaky dose 6 dates in the UK with also a charity concert in Birmingham called rock with Laughter Shaky sang 4 songs This Ole House Oh Julie Now Listen and Merry Christmas Everyone Shaky spent new year in Romania.
2008 starts with Shaky on the road doing concerts around the
world for the next 7 months while touring SKY television showed a programme called The Nations Favourite no.1 presented by Shakin’ Stevens. Then in June Shakin’ Stevens performed at the legend Glastonbury a music festival that happens every year around summer time which started way back in 1970 Shakin' Stevens was invited along with a number of stars. Saturday morning and the crewed a waits to see Shakin’ Stevens and he walks on to the pyramid stage to a tremendous welcome and performed new tracks from his album Now Listen as well as the the classics Marie Marie Oh Julie to This Ole’ House Shakin’ Stevens was to have the biggest crowd for the Pyramid Stage of 100,000 people since 1972.
.Then in July Shaky dose an open air concert it was to be a wash out but the crowed didn’t care about the weather they came to see shaky and a great night was had by all. In august Shaky fly’s off to Poland to do TV Radio interviews and concerts slowly as the year draws to a close November sees Shaky go’s off to Island to do more TV and Radio then in December Shaky play o2 arena in London.
2009 and to start the year Shaky sets off to Warsaw to do
a one off concert then he fly’s off to do a Danish tour
and with the announcement of a date to Germany in
August then Poland and Denmark in the Autumn its going to
be a busy time for Shaky. The end off 2009 a new 10 CD album box set was released
by SONY called Epic Masters contain 147 songs and unique
booklet to celebrate Shakin' Stevens 30th anniversary. The box set
includes all the hits and album tracks and Shakys very first
single Spooky. To celebrate the release Shaky done a special
concert at the O2 Accadamy in London .
SONY also made a special release of Merry Christmas Everyone with
a new layout and three new songs for the album. Also to
celebrate Shakin' Stevens 30th anniversary Official 2010
